Have you seen all the rage of cards with sun-rays lately? I have a new version that I came up with on my own to create this card you see below with sun-rays:

Have you figured out yet how I achieved the embossed sun-rays? Here's a closer peek:

Okay, time to grab your Simply Scored Scoring Tool and follow me!

You'll notice in the photo below that I have a dark line right smack dab in the middle of my board. I used a black Permanent marker to create the line when I first purchased my board. This helps line things up when you are positioning in different angles. You'll understand what I mean once you keep reading:

I started out by using a piece of So Saffron Cardstock measuring 5" x 3 1/4" but you can use any size you want. Place your cardstock piece on your scoring board using the black line as a guide and score a line somewhere close to the center, it doesn't need to be exact. And actually, if you want your sun-ray to generate more from one side or another, start to the left or the right. For this sample I started close to the middle:

Move your cardstock piece so that the bottom of your scored line remains on the black line and move the top over to the left as shown below to create the 2nd score line:

Add more lines by keeping the bottom always positioned on the black line and moving your cardstock piece top only, to the left. I made my lines spaced out unevenly as you can see below. Some are closer than others:

Keep going until the whole left-hand side is completed with score lines:

Repeat the same steps on the left-hand side of your cardstock. You will notice in the photo where all the score lines have met in the center:

Now flip your cardstock piece over and finish your card:
