My daughter Jessica and 5 year-old granddaughter Kaitlynn came over for an over-nighter yesterday so Kaitlynn and I spent some time in my craft room this morning. She LOVES to use my Big Shot Machine and my punches so we got to work in my stamp room. Look at the two projects we made by recycling bath tissue rolls:
A butterfly and a bunny rabbit:
I dug out some retired designer paper and helped her cut the pieces we needed:
For the butterfly, we used the Beautiful Butterflies Die and designer paper. I then used a pencil and hand-drew a larger butterfly out of Blushing Bride Cardstock and Kaitlynn hand-cut the butterfly all by herself. What a great job she did. She glued all the pieces you see on this project all by herself and cut the Glimmer Paper hearts all by herself.
Next up was the bunny rabbit:
I explained to her that we would have to add a layer of cardboard under the designer paper for the feet so that they would be stable. So off she went with my Ovals Collection Framelits Dies and cut 4 with the designer paper and 2 with thin cardboard. She really has to use her tiny little muscles to crank the Big Shot and she will not let you help her. So cute! We added a Glimmer Brad for the nose and Googly Eyes in the center of the Basic Black Cardstock eyes. She was very proud of her two projects and took them both home with her when they left to go back home a short time ago. I see a Stampin' Up! demonstrator coming your way in a few years!
