The first card I showed you on a previous post and then today, I experimented with another one of my dies to create a different look. Take a look at the new card below..........
I'm not sure what the technique is called but I called it "Half-Cut Die". Don't you just love the different look to these two cards? Keep reading and learn how to do this yourself.....
Half-Cut Die Tutorial:
First I started out with cardstock cut at 8.5" x 5.5".....
I scored in half at 4 1/4" and then I scored again at 2 1/8".....
Using my Top Note Die or if you'd like, the Scallop Circle 2 Die....I used my Uni-Ball Signo Gel Pen and made a mark on my die, as to where the center of the die is located on the short end and also using a pencil, make a mark on your cardstock on the short end (the end where you have the two score lines), as to where the center is also....
Line up your cardstock's center mark with your Top Note's center mark. You can lay your cardstock as deep as you would like or as close to the edge as you would like, to make your cut.....
Place one of your cutting pads under your die, and next, place the cutting pad that goes on the top layer, over your cardstock but only covering the cardstock up to the 1st scored line (the 2 1/8" part only).....
Run your sandwich through your BigShot and it should come out looking like the picture above, only partly cut!! As you can see, I had my cardstock about 1/2" away from the cut my die made.
Now fold your cardstock in half and use your bone folder for a crisp fold, follow that by folding the second half in the opposite direction and again, use your bone folder. Don't forget to erase your pencil line. You should have a tri-fold card when folding is complete. Decorate your card to your liking!
