This morning Dave and I headed to Limestone at 5 a.m. to see our 5 year old granddaugther Kaitlynn off to her first day of Kindergarten. I can't believe she is that grown up already. We had an almost 2 hour drive over. We decided to make a short day out of our work day so we came home early and I decided I "needed" to make a card. Merry Monday has this for an inspiration photo this week plus added instructions below the photo:

This week we have a photo for inspiration but you MUST use Red, Green and Kraft on your card with a choice of Ribbon, Twine or Burlap!

Did I follow the instructions? The "Red" is "Real Red Cardstock". The "Green" is "Gumball Green Cardstock". The "Kraft" is "Crumb Cake Cardstock and Ink" and the "Ribbon" is "Gumball Green 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon".

For the background I used the "Big Shot Machine" and the "Pretty Print Embossing Folder":

The snowflakes and sentiment layers are "Vellum Cardstock" and "Shimmer White Cardstock". For the white I stamped the image using the "Beautifully Baroque" stamp. I cut 3 snowflakes from the white and 2 from vellum using the "Festive Flurry Framelits Dies":

I added branches from the "Bird Punch" and flowers from the "Boho Blossoms Punch". All of the centers are adorned with "Candy Dots".

Card Supplies:
  • Cardstock: Real Red, Gumball Green, Vellum, Shimmer White
  • Inks: Crumb Cake
  • Stamps: Beautifully Baroque, Teeny Tiny Wishes
  • Tools: Big Shot Machine, Festive Flurry Framelits Dies, Word Window Punch, Pretty Print Embossing Folder, Bird Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Boho Blossoms Punch
  • Accessories:  Gumball Green 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon, Candy Dots
Here are a few photo's of Kaitlynn's first day of Kindergarten:

She held a sign like this last year for Pre-K and we plan to make this an annual event!

It was a little chilly this morning so we all had to wear our jackets. Here she is patiently waiting for bus #3!

Mom seeing her onto the bus for her trip to school. I hope she had an enjoyable day as she was quite anxious to make some new friends. I worry about the school lunch is she is a very fussy eater. Her mom packed her a P&J sandwich just in case! I'm sure I'll hear all about it soon as she loves to chat!

Thanks for stopping by to visit!
