Hi Everyone! I was organizing my stamp room over the weekend and also sorting some of the cards I have in my stash. I came across a few cards I had not yet posted. Back in April, a friend of mine asked me to make 50 invites and 50 recipe cards for her future sister-in-laws bridal shower. The catch for me for this bridal shower is that the theme was going to be "fishing" because the future bride loves to fish. My little light bulb immediately went off in my head. I knew within seconds what I was going to make.

Although Stampin' Up! did not have any current stamp sets to fit the theme, I dug out a stamp set from a long-time ago stamp set called "Fishin". This is a long-time favorite of mine that I will probably keep forever as I have quite a few fishermen in my family, including my hubby Dave.

Anyway, this is what I came up with:

The recipe cards were to be left blank as they were being mailed out with the invites and the person receiving the invite was to write up one of their very own recipes to give to the bride at the shower. What a super idea, don't you think?

I printed all of the invite information on my printer, 4 per page, on Whisper White Cardstock and cut them all down to size.

To create the background coloring, I used a piece of scrap paper and sponged the blue ink for the water, turned my scrap paper to cover the blue ink and added the green ink.

The fishing creel (fishing basket for those of you that know nothing about fishing *wink*), was stamped 50 times on Whisper White Cardstock, colored with Stampin' Write Markers and all hand-cut. Yes you heard correctly....hand-cut. They are also all added to the card as the last step with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I kept the recipe card very simple to allow for hand-writing space and coordinated it with the invite. To top things off, the week that I was working on these and had to have them completed, I had the worst cold in my whole life, ended up in the ER, but managed to get them done with tissues at hand. Both projects were a huge hit!
