For this technique you will need an embossed cardstock piece, a Brayer and 3 ink colors in the same color family, ranging from light to dark.
Step 1:
Emboss a cardstock panel with an embossing folder. I used the "Chevron Embossing Folder" and "Whisper White Cardstock".
Step 2:
Using the lightest color of ink, ink up your Brayer and gently and lightly roll over your embossing. Apply less pressure on your Brayer when you get close to the opposite end, leaving white space at the end. The ink color I used was "Blushing Bride".
Step 2:
Ink your Brayer with color #2 which is the 2nd darkest color. I used Primrose Petals for my ink color. Repeat Step 1 but only roll to about the center of your cardstock, leaving some of the Blushing Bride along with the white space.
Step 3:
Add the final color and roll your Brayer 1/3 of the way on your embossed panel. My ink color for the 3rd color is Raspberry Ripple.
Notice how the 3 colors along with the white space show up on my embossed panel in the photo below:
Pretty neat huh? This is how I completed my card below by adding a 4th color to offset the gradation and actually make the gradation pop:
