Hi Stampers! How are you coming along with your Christmas activities...shopping, gift wrapping, cooking, making a list and checking it twice? How about taking a break and joining us for a sketch challenge at Create with Connie & Mary this week?
I decided to use the stamp set Joyful Christmas for my card this week:
And I also decided to go "Monochromatic". I love the look of the embossed poinsettia on Vellum Cardstock. How rich and elegant of a look and feel to this card. I hand-cut the poinsettia in two layers:
I added Rhinestone Jewels to the center of the flower to hide the Stampin' Dimensional I used to glue the two layers together. How did I make the center green? I flipped it over and colored it with a Wild Wasabi Stampin' Write Marker. This is called the "Stained Glass Technique" as it truly does resemble stained glass.
The sentiment was also embossed and cut out using the Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies and I added a few Rhinestone Jewels:
Here is the listing of Stampin' Up! supplies I used today:
- Cardstock: Vellum, Very Vanilla, Wild Wasabi
- Inks: VersaMark, Wild Wasabi Stampin' Write Marker
- Stamps: Joyful Christmas
- Accessories: Rhinestone Jewels, Wild Wasabi Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon
- Tools: Big Shot Machine, Stripes Embossing Folder, Dotted Ribbon Punch, Apothecary Accents Framelits Dies, Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots
