Thursday night Polly and friends had a workshop in my home and these are the cards I demonstrated:

My first step was to use my "Big Shot" and the "Top Note Die" with "Whisper White" cardstock. I then used the background stamp "En Francais" and inked it with "Crumb Cake Ink". Do you sometimes find it hard to ink a larger stamp? A tip is to flip the stamp upside-down so that the rubber is facing you, flip your ink pad upside-down and pounce on your stamp.......much easier!

For my next step I demonstrated the "Rock n Roll" technique. Notice how the branches on the trees have a hint of "Cajun Craze" on the tips. I first inked my stamp in "Wild Wasibi" ink and then carefully inked the edges of the branches in "Cajun Craze" by gently rolling the outside edges of the stamp only. Once I stamped my image in the center, I stamped the same image again twice without reinking so that the trees appear in the distance with the faded ink look.

I used the "Eyelet Border Punch" on the edge of a rectangular piece of "Cajun Craze" cardstock and then ran it through my "Big Shot" with the "Square Lattice Impressions Folder". I completed the card with a sentiment from "Watercolor Trio" punched with the "Large Oval Punch", layer over the "Modern Label Punch", which was also run through the "Big Shot" and the third layer of "Wild Wasabi" was punched with the "Scallop Oval Punch". Background layer is "Wild Wasabi".

Now on to my second project:

I showed the girls how to make this Halloween "Mini Lunch Sack". You can view the instructions HERE from a previous post.

Our third and final project is a card that all the girls completed and got to take home with them:

This card used a "Watercolor Technique". You first ink up your stamp, we used "Stampin' Write Markers". When you have finished inking up your stamp, using a small mini spritzer bottle filled with water, spray your stamped image (on your rubber), flip it over and stamp the image. Notice how the spritzed water gives you a watercolor finished look.

Other supplies used:
  • Stamp Sets: Teeny Tiny Wishes, Inspired By Nature, Sanded (background stamp)
  • Punches: Scallop Edge Border Punch, Curly Label Punch
  • Tools: Heat Gun and White Embossing Powder
  • Cardstock: Bravo Burgundy, Bashful Blue, Whisper White
  • Inks: Craft White, Stampin' Write Markers, Crumb Cake
  • Accessories: Rhinestone Jewels, Smooch Spritz

Below are pictures of the Hostess Gift I presented to Polly, a little handmade box full of cards and envelopes and also an easel calendar for 2011:
