This is my second post for today. I will have a total of 3 posts when I'm done!! I had my regular post already scheduled and then I've got two contests I'm entering.

This post is to enter a contest from Donna's blog called Butternut Sage Designs. This is a blog I visit daily. Her clean & simple designs are to die for. I love reading her daily stories. This is what she wrote for this challenge:

"OKAY then I want you guys to step out of your comfort zone and capture my style.....there is an element that I use quite often to give my cards punch, you have even commented on it. So, take a good look at my cards to see the repeating style that I enjoy using time and again. Then go outside the comfort level of your own style, and create a card that resembles what I do. YOU CAN EVEN COPY! "

I've had this card bookmarked for quite some time now and decided this is the one for the contest:

This is my version below. I decided to change the colors and used the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder for the background. We are supposed to try to figure out what the one element is that Donna uses somewhat repeatly on her cards. I noticed that in most of her cards, she incorporates dots in some fashion or other. Whether it is DSP, embossing, or had drawn. Am I right Donna?

Card Supplies:

  • Carstock: Chocolate Chip, Pretty In Pink, Whisper White

  • Stamp Sets: Great Friend, Kind & Caring Thoughts

  • Inks: Pretty In Pink

  • Dies: Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder

  • Accessories: Cordurouy Button, Glue Dots

  • Punches: Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch

Good luck everyone and thanks for having us Donna!
