My dad turns 73 today and I thought I would create a card with a retired stamp set I've been holding on to. Do you have stamps sets that you just refuse to part with? The "Times & Seasons" stamp set is one of those for me. I purchased the set back in 1999 and I just love the old fashioned tractor in this picture. My dad used to be a mechanic and his specialty was working on tractor's. He was extremely busy during the harvest months and it was the norm to see a tractor with it's motor completely removed as he completed a "motor job" that took countless hours and days to complete. I remember as a child, how I used to hang out in his garage and help him wipe down his dirty, greasy wrenches and place them on the tool bench in their designated spots. We had a family of 4 children and at times, we were all little grease monkies!
I stamped my image in "Chocolate Chip" ink. Using ink pads, I dipped my "Blender Pen" in very subtle colors. I wanted to keep the image soft and not bright. I used "Pumpkin Pie", "So Saffron", "Certainly Celery", & "Sahara Sand" for my colors. I then sponged some "Chocolate Chip" to dirty the image a little bit.
