Today's Treat Holder is a sour cream container. Now as a child I do not remember these but I guess sour cream used to come packaged in containers shaped just like this one:
Aren't they just the cutest? Why don't you gather up these supplies and come make one with me?
- Paper Snips
- Sticky Strip
- Designer Paper measuring 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". I used Winter Frost DSP
- Simply Scored Scoring Tool
Turn your designer paper over to the wrong side and make sure the longer side is sitting horizontally. Apply Sticky Strip as shown in the photo:
The Sticky Strip at the top should end at approximately the center of your designer paper.
Remove the long piece of Sticky Strip backing on the short side and the one in the center of the long side. Join the two ends together first where you have the long piece of Sticky Strip by overlapping. Turn the seam that you joined together facing you and press down to secure the end seam as shown in the photo below:
This is where you will remove the backing from the 3rd piece of Sticky Strip, insert your candies or goodies and press the end seam in place but in the opposite direction. As you notice in the photo below, the two seams on the ends are opposite:
Using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool, make 3 score lines on both ends. Make sure you press lightly so as not to tear the DSP (ask me how I know this!)
Decorate the Sour Cream Container as you like! I used my 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Punch and Silver Glimmer Paper for layer #1. I stamped the image from Very Merry Tags using Soft Suede Ink and cut it out using the 1 3/4" Circle Punch and gluing to layer #1 with Stampin' Dimensionals:
You could even add a Candy Dot for Rudolph's nose! How neat is this little treat holder!
Make sure you visit tomorrow for 12 Days of Christmas Treat Holders Day 2! Thanks for stopping by to visit!
