Last night, I had a group of girls in my home for Amanda's workshop. I have the same group of girls once a month as they take turns hosting a workshop. Amanda had decided to meet an hour earlier and that we would all have Subway for supper together and follow that with the workshop. We had lots of fun....huh girls?

I presented Amanda with a hostess gift. I made this 3x3 card and candle box using the Day of Gratitude stamp set.

The card uses part of the Scallop Square Die that was also embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder on Dusty Durango. The card layer is Garden Green. I used the Decorative Label Punch and Whisper White cardstock and stamped the images in Certainly Celery & More Mustard inks. The sentiment is from A Word For You stamp set.

The tea light box is hand made. I found the pattern on Tanya Boser's blog.

This is the first card I demo'd for the girls. I actually used different cardstock colors and stamps than the card below. This type of card is called a "Joy Fold" card. You create 2 cards, one smaller than the other and adhere them together so that they both open. One opens from the right, the other from the left:

The next card I demonstrated was a technique card. The technique is called "Emerging Color":

I used a Whisper White cardstock piece that was cut with the Big Shot and the Top Note Die. I then stamped one image in More Mustard and Wild Wasabi throughout the cardstock piece. I than took a larger stamp, inked it in VersaMark Ink and stamped on top of the already stamped images. Sprinkle Clear Embossing Powder and heat set with your Heat Gun. My next step was to use a sponge and Cajun Craze Ink and I swirled the sponge all over the Top Note cardstock piece. Notice how the ink resists the embossed image?

Other items used:
  • DSP: Autumn Spice
  • Accessories: Satin Ribbon, Pearl Jewels
  • Cardstock: Whisper White, Cajun Craze
  • Punches: Scallop Oval Punch, Scallop Edge Border Punch
  • Dies: Top Note, Little Leaves Sizzlit
  • Stamp Sets: Friends Never Fade, Ornate Blossom, Perfect Punches

For the last card of the night, the girls all created this card to take home with them:

This type of card is called a "Stair-Step Card:

Punches:
Ghosts: can you believe the ghost is created with the Owl Punch? Just take his little ole' body and turn it upside-down! Add two eyes!
Pumpkin: Cut 5 of the Large Oval punch and stack them! I sponged the eges first and added the branch from the Bird Punch!
Sentiment is from Wicked Cool and is stamped in Basic Black ink and cut out with the Large Oval Punch, stacked on a 1 3/8" Circle Punch and finally layered over the Scallop Circle Punch.
Moon: 1 3/8" Circle Punch, sponged edges in Pumpkin Pie ink.
Bats: Bat Punch
Card Background: Perfect Plum embossed with the Spider Web Impressions Folder.
