As promised........yesterday's post showcased samples I made at a workshop. Here is the tutorial I promised you on the "Sanding Technique":

I started out with a piece of DSP and the "Manhatten Flower Textured Impressions Folder-item # 114517.

Insert your DSP into the embossing folder and run through your "Big Shot".

Using a "Sanding Block-item #103301 and your embossed piece of DSP, lightly go back and forth on the raised edges that you embossed until they turn white.

The picture above is what your DSP will look like when you are finished. The picture below shows you a different patterned DSP so you can see the difference:

Again, this is what your DSP will look like when you have finished the sanding technique:


I used both completed panels below in creating two cards:




Pretty neat huh? You can do this with any DSP and any of the Impressions Folders. As long as you have an embossed edge, it can be sanded and will turn white. I've also used this technique on cardstock as well. It distresses the embossed layer so that it stands out.
