This morning I am showing you how to make a "Flip Flop Card". This card is simple to create and a change to the traditional card. Look at the picture below.......isn't this a cute card? I found this card on LeeAnn Greff's blog. Did you know giving a demonstrator credit for her designs is the right thing to do? I always provide a link to their creation so you can see for yourself where the original idea came from. As demonstrator's we have many tools to use in our business and one of those tools are other demo's website's or blog's.

This is a picture of the template you need to use to complete this card:




You can click on the photo to enlarge the image. Start out with a regular sheet of cardstock 8.5 x 11 and cut in half to 8.5 x 5.5. The solid lines are where you will need to cut and the dotted lines are fold lines. The fold lines need to be folded in opposite directions, one mountain fold and one valley fold. I used "Always Artichoke" for my background color. The image below shows what your cardstock should look like once cut and folded:

Cut 2 pieces of Whisper White cardstock to fit in the center of the card. Remember to allow an extra 1/2" if you are planning on using a border punch. I used the "Awash with Flowers" stamp set to stamp my images. I also used the "Scallop Trim Border Punch" for one edge.

This is step 2 of the 2-step stamp set. Add colored inks to your previously stamped images. I used "Bashful Blue and So Saffron Inks":

This is how your stamped image layer should look like. Do not glue to your cardstock yet, I have one more step to add. I added a strip of bashful blue and some 1/4" grosgrain ribbon in "Whisper White". The sentiment I used is from the "Watercolor Trio" stamp set:

Using an "altered" "Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder" look how I embossed a small strip in the middle of my background layer. How did I do this? I purchased an extra impressions folder and cut it up in different sized strips. This allows you to place the altered folder anywhere on your card to be embossed:

When you fold your background layer, this is what it should look like:

Now glue your two panels, one on each side of your background layer. Add a few butterfly's from the "Beautiful Wings" embosslit die:

I also added a few sprays from the new "Smooch Spritz" in Gold. The shimmer on the card is gorgeous. You might be able to see it better by clicking on the photo below:
