Pals Paper Arts 39 for today is KISS-(Keep it Simple, Sweetie)There is beauty in simplicity, and they are highlighting that beauty in today's Pals Paper Arts KISS challenge. The following are suggested guidelines for creating a KISS -able card:
Clean, with lots of "white" space
Simple Designs
Minimum time to create
Limited layers and embellishments.
This post is showing 2 different cards made with another new stamp set available on May 1st in the Summer Mini.....
Both cards I created last night not knowing what the challenge was going to ask of us and both cards fit the challenge, using "White" space:
This first card is a "Clean" card. Lots of white and easy layers. Background layer is Whisper White cardstock and I used the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions folder for texture. Add a sliver of Certainly Celery Satin Ribbon. Top that off with a Basic Black Top Note Die shape and I added a sentiment inked in Craft White ink. The Scallop #2 die is perfect for the background for my stamp image. I highlighted half of the scallops with Pretty In Pink ink pad and my Aqua Painter. The stamp image is from the new stamp set called Blissful Bride. I stamped the bouquet of flowers, colored them in with Stampin' Write markers and cut out the image with my Paper Snips. Add a tiny bow made with Certainly Celery Grosgrain ribbon and add 2 half-back pearls to finish the card.
My second sample:
The background layer is Handsome Hunter and I used Texturz Plates for the swirly background. I stamped the cake image, again from the Blissful Bride stamp set, on Whisper White cardstock that was cut out with the Two Tags Die. I again used Aqua Painters and inks from Pixie Pink and Handsome Hunter to color my stamped images. The first layer of Whisper White is adhered to the 2nd layer of Whisper White with Stampin' Dimensionals. Add gold brads, Scallop Punch edge, Organza Ribbon and I also ripped a little corner of the image to layer a 2nd color beneath that first layer. Highlights of color were added here and there for attention!
