The card below is the first card I demonstrated for the girls:
This card uses the Big Shot is several different ways:
- Using the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions folder, emboss the 1st layer with Whisper White card stock and layer over the So Saffron background layer.
- Cut two of the Oval Scallop Die, one in Whisper White and one in So Saffron.
- With the Finial Press Impressions folder, emboss the outside piece of the Oval Scallop in So Saffron.
Now we will be using our Water Color Pencils and an Aqua Painter. This wonderful tool is versatile and easy to use, and works great with Stampin' Up! Watercolor Pencils, Watercolor Wonder Crayons, Classic Stampin' Pads, and other mediums to pull and blend colors. Stamp your image on the center piece of the Whisper White Scallop Oval with Chocolate Chip Ink. The stamp set I used is called Abundant Hope and is available in the Occasions Mini Catalog. I then scratched 3 different colors on scrap paper with my Watercolor Pencils, dip the Aqua Painter in the color and start coloring. As you squeeze the Aqua Painter, the color flows on your paper. The results are the same as if you created a watercolor masterpiece!
Tie a piece of Certainly Celery 5/8" Satin Ribbon to your outside scallop piece. Adhere both scallop pieces to your card.
Finish off your card by using the Modern Label Punch. I used the Easter sentiment from the same stamp set on Whisper White cardstock and layered with two more Modern Label Punches in the So Saffron cardstock.
To add shimmer to the card, I sprayed with Shimmer Mist in Champagne. It is not visable in this picture but adds a soft touch to the card. Here is a close-up of the detail:
For our second card, I thought I would use the Fox & Friends stamp set, also available in the Occasions Mini Catalog. Cindy has a very young toddler at home and I thought of this stamp set for her. Supplies needed for Fox & Friends card:
- 1 1/4" Square Punch
- Square Scallop Punch
- Star Punch
- Large Star Punch
- Modern Label Punch
- Scallop Edge Punch
- Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder
- Texturz Plates
- It's Your Birthday Stamp Set
- Fox & Friends Stamp Set
- Inks: More Mustard, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie & Really Rust
Our third and last card was a Make & Take.
All the girls made this card and got to take it home with them. This stamp set will be available for purchase on April 1st. It is called Awash with Flowers and is a Two-Step Stamp Set. View this post for details.
Start out with a Garden Green background cardstock.
Using Orchid Opulance for the next layer, decorate the bottom edge by using the Eyelet Border Punch. I also used the Tag Corner Punch in the two upper corners. Layer over your background layer.
The third layer is our stamping layer. Using the Awash with Flowers stamp set, begin filling in your Whisper White card stock with images from the 1st step, which is the outlined images of your stamp set. Step 2 will incorporate several ink pads. I used Pretty In Pink, Certainly Celery, Apricot Appeal, Tempting Turquoise and Lovely Lilac. Use Step 2 of your step set by filling in the colors of your outlined images. Now your card really starts to "pop".
Once the stamping is complete, run your layer through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder.
Now we are ready to add glitter. The first step in this process is using the Heat & Stick Powder. Have you ever purchased a store bought card that had glitter, and most of the glitter rubbed off in your hands and ended up all over your face? Well, this Heat & Stick Powder will take care of that mess. Using your VersaMark ink pad, ink up a few of the stamps, not all, and layer the ink over the already existing images. You might want to use your Stamp-A-Ma-Jig if you want to be precise. Sprinkle the Heat & Stick Powder and melt using your Heat Gun. Sprinkle with Dazzling Diamonds Stampin' Glitter and shake off excess glitter. Notice how the card has just the right amount of glitz without going overboard? You can click over the card image if you want to see a close-up view.
To finish off the card, we added a strip of Very Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon and added a sentiment on the bottom inked in Whisper White .
