This little Mother's Day Bonnet was a card template I received for free when I participated in a blog challenge from Donna Centamore's website called Butternut Sage Designs.
Thank you Donna for the free template. I received it last week and finally had a chance to play last night. I have been busy getting ready for a stamp camp I am hosting this upcoming weekend along with traveling this week and trying to play catch up.
I decided to stick with Whisper White for my background. Pure, springlike colors! The flowers are So Saffron and Garden Green. The ribbon is 5/8" Pretty In Pink Satin ribbon.
When Stampin' Up! came out with the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder, I didn't think I would use it that much, well, I use it all the time. It has become my most favorite-ist impressions folder of all time! Look at the little tiny dots full of detail!
For the large flower, I punched 3 of the 5-Petal Flower Punch in So Saffron. To layer the flower, the base piece stays flat while the other 2 layers petals were folded a little upward, to add height. The bulbs use the same punch but I cut one to have 3 petals and the other with 2 petals, folded them over with a dab of Tombow glue and added one petal of Garden Green on the top of each bulb and finally snuck them tucked away under the ribbon. The brad is from the Flower Designer Brads. Complete the card by adding a Mother's Day sentiment from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set punched with the Word Window Punch. The secret to layering white on white is to add Stampin' Dimensionals to give one layer a little lift like I did from the background card layer.
