Our 3D challenge for today was to create a "Mini Shopper Bag". Isn't it just adorable?

I used Close to Cocoa, Pretty In Pink and Whisper White cardstock. The ribbon is Certainly Celery grosgrain. I embossed a small strip of paper with the Finial Press Impressions Folder and used my Scallop Trim Border Punch at the bottom. I used the new Awash with Flowers stamp set that will available for purchase on April 1st. Ink used is Close to Cocoa stamped on a Kisses Love Note and sponged on the edges to give it just a little distinction. Add a few brads to attach the handles and tie a ribbon around the handles. This is a quick & easy project. Create 4 or 5 3x3 note cards and what a wonderful gift for anyone!

Here are the directions on how to make one:

Supplies:
• For the body of the bag, you will need one piece of cardstock measuring 9″ x 3 3/8″ and two pieces of cardstock measuring 3 3/4″ x 2 1/2″ (for the sides of the shopper)
• For the bag handles, you will need two strips of cardstock measuring 6 1/2″ x 5/8″ and four brads to attach the handles to the bag.
• You will also need Sticky Strip, a bone folder, Scissors and a small hole punch.

Instructions:
• First, take the 9″ x 3 3/8″ piece of cardstock and, using a bone folder, score it at 3 1/2″ and 5 1/2″. This piece creates the front, bottom, and back of the shopper. Decorate this piece however you’d like. You can decorate it after the bag is assembled, but it’s just not as easy.
• Once you’ve decorated the face of the shopper, use your small hole punch to punch two holes near the top of each face of the shopper. You should have four holes punched when you’re done.
• Next, punch a hole in each end of the bag handles.
• Use brads to attach the handles to the bag.
• For the sides of the bag, take the two 3 3/4″ x 2 1/2″ pieces and score them 1/4″ in from three sides (score in from both of the long sides and just one of the short sides). Score again on the long side right in the middle to create fold lines for your bag. This will allow the bag to fold in some and make it more flexible.
• Cut off the two little squares created by the score lines in the corners of the side pieces.
• Fold along the score lines of everything you’ve scored and use sticky strip to attach the 1/4″ flaps of the side pieces to the body of the bag. Now you have a cute Mini Shopper!
